I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. I love that our company gives us Friday and Monday off - but man it is hard to go back! I don't have much in the way of pictures, but I had my 2nd Annual Spa Day with my mother-in-law at Lake Austin Spa - our Mother's Day gift from Brent. Then Saturday, it was my goddaughter's birthday party, Sunday we hung out with my sister's family and their neighbors, and then Monday we cooked out at our house for some of our neighbors. Busy but fun!
Now onto my monthly goals! First, let's recap how August ended:
1. Get Ready for School - We rocked the first week of school, so this was a big success! Everyone is doing really well so far 2 weeks in!!
2. Baby Prep - Things are going pretty well here, just about ready to execute!
3. Family Walks - Nope, nada. But I'm not giving up on this. We had a lot of rain this month, and we're seeing seasonably cooler temperatures {think 90* instead of 105* ha}, so I know we can do this!
4. Spending - Not amazing but getting better. I want to just keep focusing on this as time goes on. And really concentrate on frivolous spending.
And here are my goals for September:
1. Start on Smoochie's Nursery - I need to get Smoochie's room cleaned out so I can start moving furniture in and getting organized. Luckily, there isn't too much in there, but everything that is in there {especially the closet} has to go somewhere! Patty brought me their crib over the weekend, and I've been talking to my decorator, Jennifer, about getting 1 wall painted - I'm excited!
2. Family Walks - FOR REAL THIS TIME. The weather is cooling off, and I know we would all benefit from some time in nature together.
3. Detail the Car - Once again, my car is a disgusting mess. It's time to clean it all out and get it scrubbed by professionals. Let's not pretend, though, that this means I'll keep it clean, ha.
4. Search for New Recipes - We have a decently good dinner routine, but I have 2 issues. 1) I feel a little bit in a rut. 2) We have a couple of evenings with activities from 4:30 - 5:30 that make 'normal' meals more challenging because we don't get home until 6:00, so I can't really be starting dinner then... So I want to search for and try some new recipes - maybe throw in some crock pot recipes even! Just want to add a few new ones to the rotation if I can! But of course I also want them to be super healthy which always makes for an extra challenge!
And with that - my goals for the month!
