Even Though My Aggies Disappoint, The Weekend Didn't

Brent and I had a quick little getaway this weekend to go see my beloved Aggies play attempt to play football. Schuyler {our kids' Godfather} grew up a huge Auburn fan, so ever since A&M joined the SEC, we've talked about going to a game together, and this year we made it happen!

The weather and the football left a lot to be desired...but not the silliness!

If we had to lose to anybody's team...I'm glad it was his.

You might wonder where Brent was this entire time. Well, we were squished so tightly in our row that I had to sit on his lap. While it rained. And my hair blew in his face. And he doesn't like the Aggies. Or Auburn. So after about a quarter and a half, he called it a day and went back to the bars. Can't say I blame him!

We had a bunch of friends in College Station also game-day-ing it up. 2 brothers had a bet, and Brent was the money keeper. Well, he also got in on the action to where if the final score was decided by exactly the line, Brent would win all the money. Well, thanks Clemson and Florida State. {grin}

We might have lost {and frankly played pretty terribly}, but we still had a great weekend with friends!

Game Day

I haven't been to an Aggie football game in {gasp} 6 years.  We got some tickets to go see the Ags B.T.H.O. Texas Tech!!!!  I had such a great time cheering my Ags onto victory.  This season (and if we're being honest - many seasons) have been very disappointing, but yesterday's game showed that the Aggies still have some fight in them.  Whoop!

Whoop!

Last night was our 2nd annual trip to College Station for the A&M vs. t.u. basketball game. A&M's b-ball team is not known historically for their winning abilities, but they have been much better the last few years. And we have beaten t.u. at home the past 4 years...I was a little concerned about last night given our 3-7 Big XII record and recent loss to Baylor (Seriously? Baylor? After losing to them in football, this is just salt in the open wound.)

Can't start the night without a shotgun.

Final score - WHOOP! I had nothing to worry about - we have now beaten t.u. 5 years in a row at home. We led the entire 2nd half, by as much as 19 points!

We had an extra ticket and gave it to my cousin, Ryan. Don't you just want to squeeze him because he's so adorable!! {Ignore my crazy eyes and hair, please. I have no excuse.}

Random Picture Wednesday

So my BFF from kindergarten, Jennifer, does 'Random Picture Wednesday', and I think it is so fun. I know today is Friday, but I liked the title and decided to stick with it - since I am copying her... She uses dice to give her folder and picture, but I used my co-workers. So thanks to Leigh, Cristee, Kathleen and Jennifer for your selections, you can blame any lame pictures on them, not me!!

Leigh's selection: I have to confess that we had to go through 3 tries before Leigh picked a picture I hadn't JUST posted. I know Jennifer's 'rules' including posting the picture, no matter what, but I thought it wouldn't be as fun to post pictures I had already put up (since my blog is still very new). This picture is also from Patty's shower, and I think it looks like she's imagining waving her Aggie towel at a football game...Gig 'em!

Cristee's selection: This is from Brent's Sloshball Birthday Party - Walt got way too drunk, passed out on baby Macey's blanket, and got drawn on in Sharpie marker by his own brother. It was too hilarious!

Kathleen's selection: The Aggie vs. t.u. basketball game last year. We took a charter bus to College Station (full of ridiculous amounts of alcohol), watched the game (Aggies won - Whoop!), and then drove home. Don't worry, I was the DD. Here are most of the boys (Brent not included) shot-gunning a beer before tip-off.

Jennifer's selection: I did a lot of decorating around the house this summer and took pictures to send to Kristen, who was living in Louisville at the time. Lauren and I made these curtains (Lauren did most of the work) that now hang proudly in our master bedroom.
