Pictures Were a Success....Sorta

You spoke, and I listened. I wore Dress #2. I probably like Dress #1 better as just a fun dress to wear, but Dress #2 went better with family pictures. We had to cut the pictures short (but I still think we'll have some good ones) because the baby was having some issues (that resulted in messed up shorts and the need for Pedialyte). Anyway, thanks again for helping me choose what to wear, I can't wait to post the results!!

Need Your Heeellllpppp!!!! (Yes, I'm Whining)

Trent's 1-year pictures are Saturday (yes, he'll be 13 months old on Friday). Having a wardrobe dilema (did I spell that right?). Trent will wear a few outfits, Brent and I will each where one, because the focus is going to be on Trent with just a few family pictures in there. I bought 2 dresses that could both work, which is where you, my lovely readers, come in. Please help me decide which dress!!! I'm not big on matchy-matchy for photos, but I like for outfits to coordinate. So we're all wearing blue but different patterns and shades of blue. So please VOTE on the added poll to let me know which you like better.

These 2 boys make my heart full. {grin} Trent has been sick, and he and his daddy were enjoying a little 'Baby Signing Time' post-bath.

Doesn't this little face make your heart melt?

The Wagon

I've fallen off it... You might have noticed (or not) that I haven't posted a weigh-in recently. I blame that on Chick-fil-A...Little Caeser's...and a few other delectable spots. But enough! THIRTY is just around the corner. Time to pull myself back on that wagon...possibly kicking and screaming...but back on it, I go! {grin}

Splash Park!

Patty and I took the boys to a splash park in town the other day, and they both had fun! It was just the right size for them...Patty and I both know we'll be going back!

Easiest Recipe Ever?

I made this recipe and decided it might be the easiest meal ever. I need more recipes like this, and Brent and I would have home-cooked meals every night!

-1 onion
-1 container beef broth (a bigger size)
-1 pork tenderloin (although the packages at HEB come w/ 2 in them and I made both)
-Spices to season (I used salt, pepper and chili powder)

-Cut up onion and place in bottom of crockpot
-Season pork tenderloin then place in crockpot
-Cover with beef broth
-Cook on Low (My meat was defrosted so it took about 4 hours)
-Shred/Cut the meat when done

Now here's the super awesome part. You can make SO many meals with this.
The first day we put it on Hawaiian sandwich rolls w/ BBQ sauce (and maybe some candied jalepenos and pickles - no I'm not pregnant) and had sandwiches. The second day I made quesadillas. You could also make tacos and I'm sure a million other things. SO DANG GOOD!!!

Baby, Baby, Baby Signing Time

Trent loves his signing video 'Baby Signing Time'. We let him watch it once a day. He is ENTHRALLED the entire time it is on. As evidenced by this:

Now I'm being real here, so please don't judge me based on the cleanliness of my master bedroom.

A Few More of Our Herd

Here are a few more fun pictures of our herd of cats. It is ridiculous how adorable they are. You don't have to tell me, I already know. :)

Total 'Eclipse' of the Heart

My sis and I had the babes to ourselves yesterday and decided we deserved a little treat today. So to 'Eclipse' we went. The movie was super fun (best one yet), my date was great (love ya sis), the food was yummy (if you don't have an Alamo Drafthouse in your town, I'm sorry), and the sangria?? Well, it might have been the best part. {grin} Is The Twilight Saga cheesy? Why yes it is! Do I love every minute of it? Why yes I do! Bring on 'Breaking Dawn' 18 months. ;)

Grow Baby Grow - 12 Months!!!

I'm a little late with this post, but it's hard to get Trent to sit still (as evidenced by these pictures)!

What is Trent up to these days?
-He signs 'milk', 'more', 'eat', 'baby', 'shoes' and understands a lot of what we say to him.
-He wants to be outside all the time, he loves being in his car or wagon or walking around. Doesn't play with many of his toys, but loves to be opening cabinets, unrolling toilet paper, pulling out all our stuff, and causing mischief. ;)
-He hates to be still including diaper changes.
-NOT a good eater, only wants to eat bread/carbs. Won't eat ANY fruit and hardly any vegetables. I try not to worry because I know he's getting used to table food.
-He's in the pre-toddler room at school and is doing great!

I'm working on a fun collage of all his growth pictures (since this is the last official one I'm doing), I'll post it soon.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Baby's Got His Blue Jeans On

My sister finally sent me the blue jean diaper pics she took the other day. Unfortunately, the experience was a lot like herding cats, so we didn't really get any good ones of the boys together. Of course, as y'all have all seen, this wasn't the first failed picture opportunity, nor, I imagine, will it be the last!

My mom's response to Miles throwing his puppy in the potty? He was trying to see if his puppy could do the dog paddle! HAHAHAHA!!!!

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

My sis sent me this picture this morning. Miles uses a wub-a-nub pacifier w/ a puppy attached (he has probably 10 of them...they are everywhere...that boy is an addict...and it's so cute). Apparently this puppy did something really bad. {grin}

Best Laid Plans

We were at a family reunion this weekend in Salado. We've gone every year of my life (although I did miss last year due to know...a newborn), and we always have such a good time. Hagan, Patty and I decided it would be fun to bathe our 3 boys together and take pictures and film it. I mean seriously...wouldn't that just be so adorable?!?! The boys disagreed.

Connor FREAKED out - look at Trent and Miles' faces - which prompted Miles to freak out too.
End result - Trent all by his lonesome...hmmm...I wonder if this was his master plan to get those other 2 out of his tub! ;)

Review: Bitter is the New Black

Jen Lancaster is a genius! I don't know when I've laughed so hard at a book. Jen writes books that are mostly true, and it was hilarious reading about her struggles after getting laid off post 9/11. Allison, a friend of mine for over 20 years, loaned me this one. I was a little hesitant, although Allison and I usually like similar books, because Allison does not like sparkly vampires or wizards (I know, I know, it's shocking...but she's really sweet and adorable otherwise). But Allison was right on the money about this one. Go read it today!! Rating: A+++

Trent's Nursery is DONE!!

So let's ignore the fact that my son turned one last week. Let's just focus on the fact that it's done and I LOVE it!! So...would you like a tour???

Trent's crib wall - I knew I wanted his name about his crib, and since we didn't name him for almost 48 hours, and then brought home a newborn, and then battled post-partum took a while to buy the letters, paint them and get them on the wall. There's a "Prayer for a Little Boy" there as well that hung in Brent's room. :)

You just saw these pictures as I finished this collage right before the party. But I still love it!

This 'G' was the only thing hanging in his room when Trent came home. We got these crosses for his Baptism and his birthday.

Another Baptism cross and some little knick-knacks.

His quilt!! My FMIL* has my sense of timing, and she finished his quilt right before his party as well. Didn't it turn out fantastic?

Hope you like how it turned out as much as I do!! I love seeing how people decorate and am a little jealous when they finish projects in a timely manner (say finishing the nursery before the baby is born), but I want to love the end result, and you can't rush finding the perfect stuff. And Trent's room is just like him...PERFECT! {grin}
*Fabulous mother-in-law

Why Buy Toys?

I guess without the toys, we wouldn't have the boxes for him to enjoy?!?!

Curious George Trent

Trent is a typical toddler - he loves to get into everything. As long as it isn't dangerous, and I'm there to supervise, I pretty much let him do what he wants. It is so adorable to watch him discover everything. I wonder, though, will this embarrass him in front of future girlfriends?

Mid-Year Touchpoint

I thought it'd be a good idea (since 2010 is half over - where has the time gone?) to see how my 2010 Resolutions were progressing...
  • Get more organized - I'm trying...some days are good, some are not. I'd give myself a B- on this one.
  • Learn to play the guitar - I have a loaner guitar and instructional DVD and can play 3 notes...B
  • Donate milk to the Austin Milk Bank - Yup! I did it. A+
  • Reclaim my body - in process...B
  • Continue to grow in my faith and become more involved in my church - Another one that's a continual process. I LOVE my church and will see where I feel led as the year continues...
Here's hoping the 2nd half of 2010 is as great as the first!
