Grow Baby Grow {Drew} - 5 Years Old!!

I finally got around to taking Drew for her well-check. Not that we didn't see the doctor approximately 4,293 times in January for flu-related shenanigans.

Stats:
Weight: 33.2 pounds {5%}
Height: 40.5" {15%}
BMI: 14.5 {25%}
Clothing size: almost all 4T, a few 3T dresses/leggings
Shoe size: between 10 and 11 depending on brand

When I think of Drew, the main things that come to mind are her sweetness, her mothering, her concern for others, her snuggliness. She is just a sweet, sweet girl.

That's not to say she can't have her fits - they're few and far between but she can definitely blow up. She yelled at Brent a few weeks ago 'You don't know anything about my life!', and we both absolutely cracked up. Is she 5 or 15?!

Drew LOVES Paige. She has started calling her Bo-Bo out of nowhere {but not surprising because she is always making up names for people}, wants to pick out her clothes, tries to feed her, basically will do anything I need with Paige.

She and Trent...whew. They butt heads so much - it is probably one of my biggest challenges right now. He knows just how to press her buttons, and he gets the perfect reaction - she whines, squeals, cries, FREAKS OUT. So we're constantly working on him to stop picking on her and her to stop reacting to him!

She is thriving at school. She has a circle of girlfriends, is happy in her class, and is learning so much. She is writing really well - and a lot of cursive. She LOVES to draw and is constantly drawing pictures of our family. She would do crafts all day if we let her.

She has really started to get into Legos and has been gifted a handful of smaller sets. She does a great job of building them with just a little direction from me. My mom got a big container of Lego Friends pieces, and she also loves to make creations with those.

Drew is a big pleaser. She likes things to be equal - if we tease her and ask if she loves Mommy or Dadd more, she always says 'Both'. And she is always saying that both the 'Honk the horns' (Texas Longhorns) and 'Gig 'em Aggies' (Texas A&M) are great.

She loves to play pretend - we are always playing Family - she is the mother, I'm the sister, and Paige is the baby - or we're playing the abandoned Buttercup Fluffy bunny game.

She loves her cousins something fierce. She plays with both Blair and Mayer but is leaning more towards Blair.

Drew is into everything stereotypically girly. Pink, purple, glitter, sequins, rainbows, hearts - you get the picture. Most days she looks like Punky Brewster, but she is so confident in her fashion choices. Her uniform is almost always a t-shirt, leggings, and a skirt.

She doesn't really like me to fix her hair, but she'll sometimes do 2 pigtails and will RARELY let a bow be put in her hair.

Drew is still a really good eater who will eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and will try almost anything we ask her to. She still loves sweets though and would happily chew bubble gum all day. She almost always chooses a cake pop at Starbucks but loves chocolate milk too.

Drew has continued to blossom into an amazing little girl this year. She's still navigating the waters as a middle child, but she thinks it's pretty neat to be a little sister AND a big sister. She is sweet and sassy and so loving and kind. I couldn't ask for anything more of this girl.

We love you to the moon and back, Drew Kathleen! XOXO
