Meet Gus!

BIG NEWS IN THE GURLEY HOUSEHOLD!!!!! We got a puppy!!!!!! 

We've been talking about it for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. Spoiler alert-the kids are bananas for this puppy!

We knew we wanted a doodle but spent some time negotiating size and breed and settled on a golden doodle! We found a breeder about 20 minutes away and picked a litter in March. It was very easy for us to pick a name - Gus for Augustus from Lonesome Dove - one of our favorite movies and one of my favorite books too. So then it was just waiting {impatiently} for him to get to 8 weeks old, and that day came yesterday!!

The kids have been counting down the day for weeks and were so excited. Drew walked in the door and burst into tears! There were fights over who go to hold him and do everything with him. I had to keep reminding them that Gus is going to live with us for his whole life! {grin}

His first night was pretty good. We are crate training him, so he slept in our room right next to my side of the bed. He whined every 1-2 hours, but he made it the whole night with 1 potty break! He's doing so good, and we all love him so much!
