Guadalupe River State Park

One of the {many} great reasons I'm so happy Kelly has moved into our neighborhood is her love of being outdoors and in nature with the kids. She is such an inspiration to me for my 'nature' goals, and a few weeks ago, she invited our family to go to the Guadalupe River State Park. It was a 90-minute drive, so it was definitely more fun to go with another family, and we were happy to be invited! We went on a Monday, so I took off work, and we were able to load all the kids into our car...barely!

About to hit the road!
You can't see Paige because she's still rear-facing, but she's there ha.

We made it and are ready to swim!

Friends for over 20 years!

Paige and Tanner are 2 months apart in age and LOVE playing together.

Trent is often the odd man out - so many of our friends have kids Drew and Paige's ages - so I was worried he would be bored, but he had a lot of fun!

Friends for life!

Lots of breaks for food!

Everyone but Trent went on a little trail walk.
They had some really long trails, but it was SO hot!

The view at the end was gorgeous!

We were so glad to have gone, and we can't wait for more adventures with friends!

A Fairly Festive Fourth

We had a really nice 4th of July weekend! I'm fortunate and my company always gives us 2 days off, so I got a 4-day weekend, and it was wonderful.

First off, I can't talk about this period of time without mentioning HAMILTON. I have been counting down to being able to stream the original cast for months, and IT. DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT. I let Trent watch it with me, and we had to watch it in chunks, but he and I were both giddy watching it. AND Brent has also said he wants to watch it because he is curious about something Trent and I both love this much. I almost died.

Watching with my guy - gosh he's cute

Saturday morning I went for a run with Kelly. {She is one of my HS besties who moved into our neighborhood!! Here's where I shared our backstory.} It was a great way to start off a day of non-stop eating.

My view when I left - all the heart eyes

We had our 2 neighbor friends from RBC {I created a new label for all our neighborhood activities} come over to enjoy the day together - we kind of bubble together.

I made this delicious trifle - it was so good!

We hit up the pool for a few hours - so glad we are still able to swim!

You guys know themed outfits are something I LOVE!

Trey, Drew, and Tanner {Tanner and Trey are Kelly's kids}

The neighborhood parade was canceled, but Brent still decorated our golf cart.
We got lots of waves and honks driving around the neighborhood!

We had a great time eating, talking, drinking, and the kids played together so great. We got out the bounce house, they ran around, and Brent got sparklers. Someone in the neighborhood set off fireworks, so we got a great view from our front yard.

I forgot to put Paige's headband on her, so I decided to wear it, ha.

Susie got Prosecco Pong for her birthday so we HAD to play.

We stayed up way too late and ate and drank way too much, but we had a great day!
