Grow Baby Grow {Paige} - 2 Years

Welp. My baby is officially not a baby anymore. Paige Noelle up and turned 2 on us! I did the girls' well-checks combined to save on a trip to the doctor, but we had to wait until after Drew's birthday, so we went last week. And shocker - Paige is just perfect!

Stats:
Height: 33.5" {25-50%}
Weight: 22.6 pounds {10%}
Head circumference: 45.5 cm {10%}
Diaper size: 3 or 4 both work fine for sleep, naps are in cloth with 1 snap down
Clothes: 12-18 months in almost everything, sometimes 9-12 months and sometimes 18-24 months
Shoe size: 6

I know I say this repeatedly, but Paige is truly just such a joy. She is almost always happy and makes everyone around her smile. We get comments ALL THE TIME about how cute and sweet she is, and she really is!

Paige is talking and singing up a storm - she speaks hundreds of words and can easily string 5 or 6 word sentences together {or more!} and can even sing big chunks of songs - some recent faves are 'No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed', 'Johnny, Johnny', 'Jingle Bells', 'Rudolph'.

She LOVES to read. We don't get many fits out of her, but when I stop the books at bedtime, she does NOT like it.

We are still nursing, but I'm weaning her down. We've mostly dropped the morning nursing session but she still likes to nurse when going to sleep. Paige has a GREAT diet - she eats a wide variety of food including lots of fruits and vegetables - she takes after her sister on this one for sure.

Speaking of sleep, Paige takes a good 2-3 hour nap and goes to bed around 7:00 or 7:30. She is usually easy to put down, but if she fusses, we have our trusty 'Daddy song' - music that plays through the monitor - which always works. Rarely does she wake up at night, but Daddy song puts her back down 95% of the time.

Paige LOVES school - it is so easy to get her ready and out the door in the morning - I just have to mention going to see Ms. Krystin, ha. She also talks a lot about her classmates and reports on who was sick or who got hurt.

She has 20 teeth - Drew had 14 and Trent had 20 at 2, but Trent was still cutting his last 2 2-year molars and Paige has had hers for a little while now. I was shocked when we went to the dentist and she commented on 3 of them being all the way in - had no idea she cut them!

Paige loves to play with Trent and Drew. Drew can irritate her by 'loving' her a little too much, but mostly her big siblings are her best friends. Although she is still pretty much obsessed with me and is constantly telling me 'Hold you.'

We are still having great success with the potty. She wears panties 100% of the time except when she's sleeping. She will occasionally have an accident but that is not the norm.
And now some of my favorite pictures from our girl's 2nd year!

Christmas 2018

It took me until just a couple of days to gather and organize all the Christmas pictures! But I did it! {grin} We had a great Christmas, so I will largely let the pictures do the talking.

Christmas Eve: We spent the day at home and went to Brent's Nannie's house in the evening. I needed to get one last present for my mom and somehow spent 3 hours shopping which was a random experience ha!

Trent needed a haircut and I was bad at scheduling something,
so this was my attempt at cutting his hair.

When everyone needs some rest!

That long nap was too much for Drew - she couldn't sleep.
I got frustrated and sent her to Trent's room, ha.

Christmas Morning: We started our morning off at home with the kids finding their Santa gift {a giant tree swing} and opening their stockings and presents from us. [Sidebar: Drew can't decide if she believes in Santa or not. Trent hasn't believed in a long time, and I can't decide if I should be honest or keep it going?]

Brent got them a laser tag game for us to play as a family.

He loves these books!

A Beyblade stadium! His #1 request

We then headed over to my parents for time with my sister's family and my parents.

We did a scavenger hunt for a big group gift we did for all the kids - a spring trip to the San Antonio zoo. They had a great time hunting for clues and are really excited to go! Patty hid little toy animals over the house for them to hunt and then guess where we were going.

Love all of these peeps SO much!

Christmas Night: We left my parents' house around 1:00 so Paige could get some sort of a nap, and then we headed to Brent's parents' house. This was their first Christmas in the new house - that is 7 minutes from us - and we had a great time!

Saturday After Christmas: We had one last Christmas at my sister's house for my mom's siblings and my cousins. Brent had hernia surgery the day before, so he stayed home to recover.

The best gift was my parents kept our big kids for 3 nights - 1 at my sister's and then they took Trent and Drew and Patty's 3 to their house for 2 more nights. Yay!

And with that, Christmas 2018 has come to a close. Yay for returning to normal life and back to school for my kids today!!!
