Meet Goldie and Gil!

After our disastrous adventure at Zootopia, I was surprised when Brent suggested we go to the rodeo. Who is this man and what have you done with my husband? The kids were very excited {Drew kept calling it the radio and had no clue what we were doing, but Trent's enthusiasm was contagious}.

I wasn't happy about this! It's mid-March!

Trent was underwhelmed with the petting zoo, so Brent took him on this adventure.

We met up with some people we know!

And somehow Trent convinced Brent to let them play a game to win a goldfish.

So now we are the proud owners of 2 goldfish, Gil {Trent} and Goldie {Drew}

We left the rodeo and had to go to PetSmart to get supplies - a bowl, food, decorations, water conditioner...let's see how long these guys last!

A March Goal FAIL...

One of my March goals was to do some activities with the kids. Brent and I decided to take the kids to Zootopia. I was really excited because a) the movie looked cute, b) it would achieve my goal, and c) it would be Drew's first movie. Brent was tolerating the idea of going. {grin}

Well, let's just say...this was a disaster!

I don't have unrealistic expectations for going to a movie with kids. Do I expect them to be totally quiet? No. Do I expect them to sit still? No. Is a bathroom break likely to happen? Yes. So they behaved about like I expected. Drew wandered around a little, Trent was super hyper, they were both chatting...

What I didn't expect was for TRENT to get scared - to the point we all left. With Drew crying that she wasn't scared and she wanted to go back to 'o-topi'. Then both kids were crying in the car. Drew because she was mad we left, Trent because he was just full of emotion!

So our drive home consisted of me sitting almost backwards holding both kids hands and consoling them. And Brent was just a little too smug since this went about just as he expected. #ugh #men

BUT...I think we redeemed our March goal yesterday! Stay tuned...{grin}
