Movie Review: The Imitation Game

We had an awesome 3-day weekend. Amazingly busy but so awesome. We celebrated Drew's birthday {and Mayer's}. We had LOTS of cousin time. Trent was on his best behavior. Drew slept through the night 2 out of 3 nights. And I somehow watched 4 Oscar nominated films. Boyhood and The Grand Budapest Hotel are out on video, Brent and I watched American Sniper {review to come soon}, and Allison and I went and saw The Imitation Game.

Plot: During World War II, mathematician Alan Turing tries to crack the enigma code with help from fellow mathematicians.

Review: I have to give to IMDB, that is just about the worst description of a movie ever. This sounds so boring - a movie about mathematicians? Luckily for us, IMDB was the one to blame, NOT the movie. Stellar cast, amazing story, suspenseful plot. Benedict Cumberbatch was just incredible in his role, and Keira Knightley was fantastic. We both agreed he kicked Michael Keaton's ass as well as that craptastic Birdman. Overall, 2 very enthusiastic thumbs up! {The nerd in both Allison and me got us very interested in this story from WWII because we had never heard of the Nazi code machine - Enigma - so of course we both want to read the book and I googled a lot about it. This was a closely guarded British secret for 50 years!} GO SEE THIS MOVIE!

I totally disagree with you. Cumberbatch was good, but Keaton wiped the floor with him! :-)
