Grow Baby Grow - 9 Months

Stats:
Length: 28 1/2 inches (50-75%)
Weight: 18 pounds, 6 ounces (10-25%, WHAT?!?!)
Head circumference: 45 cm (50%)

I did talk with the doctor about his weight since he was born in the 75-90%, but he's eating great and looks healthy, so she's not worried. My only comment is - couldn't he have been in the 10-25% when I had to deliver him?! {grin}

Trent wanted to play with the goat, so he came for the monkey shot. :)
Now it's silly time

Trent now:
-crawls, eats LOTS of babyfood, has FIVE teeth, gives you a piece of mind if he doesn't like what you're doing, loves to read, mimics (coughing and squealing - so stinking cute), pulls up on furniture, ignores the word 'No', loves to be outside and.........STARTS SCHOOL TOMORROW (SOB!!!!)...
I'll keep you all posted on how his first day goes. I'm sure he'll be fantastic, it'll be me that has a rough time with it. Wish us luck!

Heath and Heather

Brent's cousin, Heather, got married this weekend in Lake Jackson. We loaded up the car (and I do mean loaded) Friday to head down there. It's amazing what adding 1 person to your family does to packing for a road trip! We had a great weekend seeing family. We stayed with the bride's brother, Philip, and his wife, Kristi, and just had the best time.

I love taking pics of the decorations (I am a major wedding junkie)
CAKE!
The reception was on the water = GORGEOUS!
Gorgeous bride

Yes, we are the parents who let our child crawl around the dirty reception floor (if he's happy, we're happy)
The weather in LJ made Trent's curls pop up!
Happy with Papa
This picture kills me. The Gurley men were showing us how they don't squint when taking pictures.
4 Generations

We had such a great weekend. Trent was SO worn out he slept for almost 2 1/2 hours on the way home. Unfortunately, Sunday is always my driving day, so Daddy got to reap those rewards and sleep too. BOO.
Just as an update, Trent did cry both Friday and Saturday nights (10:00 PM and 3:00 AM respectivel) but didn't cry last night. I think he was still too tired. I'm really glad we're going to the doctor on Wednesday for his 9 mo well-check. Hopefully the doc will have some advice!

Parenting Is...

...wonderful.
...confusing.
...full of joy.
...scary.
...the best thing EVER!

{First teething biscuit - yum!}

Sometimes it's a crap shoot too! Trent has woken up crying 4 out of the last 5 nights. Not just a little crying - full-on hysterics. And he's not a crier. No clue what's going on. Is it his teeth (he's gotten 3 this month)? Is he not getting enough sleep during the day? Is it that he's so much more active now that he can crawl? Does he have gas? Does he not feel okay? WHO KNOWS! All I know is that I give him about 10 minutes to try and settle on his own and then go get him. It's taken anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to settle him. Heartbreaking! We're going out of town this weekend, and he'll be sleeping in his pack 'n play. To say I'm dreading more of these episodes is an understatement - especially while staying w/ family. Ha!

If You've Ever Wondered...

...if it's possible to overdose a baby on Gerber Yogurt Melts...the answer is YES! :( Trent had such a rough night, and I'm going to blame these snacks. He LOVES them, and I stupidly gave him a bunch yesterday. He had such an upset stomach last night from 10:30 - 12:30 AM. I felt horrible because it was my fault!!! I almost cried. So lesson learned.

Miles of Miles (and Trent)

We have been blessed this week to spend lots of time with Aunt Patty and cousin Miles. I think the boys are slowly starting to remember each other and play together. Miles is so much bigger and can be a little possessive of his toys (which is so adorable), but overall they get along great! I'll let the pictures do most of the talking...

Proof that Trent can crawl :)

Lady Bird Wildflower Center

We took a trip to the Lady Bird Wildflower Center on Sunday (me, Patty, the boys and Allison). There was an artisan festival there, so we thought it would be fun to check it out and thought the boys would like the flowers. Well, there weren't many flowers or artists, but it was still fun to get out and about.

The Trenster

I can't get over how much he is changing. I feel like he has made so many changes over the last few weeks and is turning into a BIG BOY on me! He's crawling, he's got 2 more teeth for a total of 4 (but listen to this - there are 3 on the bottom and 1 on the top - hilarious), he is starting to pull up on things, he has started giving us attitude when he doesn't get his way, he pitches mini-fits when we come in from being outside. He's getting such a personality! He's also trying so many new foods - he had frozen yogurt and sherbert last week and went NUTS over them. He would fuss at me if I didn't give him more fast enough and would say 'Mmmmm' with every bite! He makes me laugh every day and is such a joy. Just wanted to share!

I'm a Mess

Layla Grace went to heaven this morning. Please remember her and her family in your prayers. Please also remember Jordan as she fights the same nasty disease.

We Officially Have...

...a CRAWLER! For weeks and weeks Trent has been doing this inchworm move and after a few feet, he would collapse just exhausted. This weekend, he finally put all the moves together and can crawl. Cutest.thing.ever.

It's a Paw-ty!!!

Patty did an amazing job preparing for Miles' party. Everything was dog-themed, and it was so cute! My sister is so crafty, she totally puts me to shame.

Miles' dog bowl...um...I mean cake! (I missed him eating his cake - was nursing Trent - but he wasn't too impressed.)

The ONE YEAR OLD and his Mama. Yes, she made his shirt.

My guys. Yes, Aunt Patty made Trent's shirt too.

I just love watching the boys interact. Trent can play with a toy of Miles' that he hasn't played with in months, and Miles will crawl over and take it. Same goes for his high chair - he didn't want Trent in it! SO CUTE!

They aren't naked, but they are super cute in their matching outfits!
He got a ton of toys but wanted to bang on this chair. Typical boy. ;)
We love Miles so much and are looking forward to what the future has in store as our boys grow up together. I can't believe a year has come and gone - he (and Trent - duh) bring such joy to my life.
