All My Bags are Packed...

...I'm Ready to Go...

We are inducing tomorrow morning!! I have mixed emotions about it, but overall I am very excited to meet Baby Boy. I am nervous that labor will be worse because of the induction, but my doctor seems to be very confident that my body is ready for labor. I will post again when I can with details of everything (including Baby Boy's name)!!! Thanks for all the kind words and prayers, we appreciate it!

Decorating

We FINALLY have something on Baby Boy's walls! Our friend, Crystal, makes these super cute wall hangings and made one for Baby Boy. She usually puts their first initial in the middle...since Baby Boy doesn't have a first initial, we did a 'G' instead. I think it is super precious and love it!!! I love that it matches his room perfectly and is unique too. Thanks Crystal!!

Check back this afternoon to find out if we are being induced tomorrow...getting a little nervous about that...

Brad and Sara

I went to a wedding reception this weekend for one of my best friends from PHS - Sara. She finally (and I do mean FINALLY) tied the knot with her H.S. sweetheart - Brad. This wedding has only been 15 YEARS in the making!! They got married on June 12, 2009 in Cabo (we SO would have been there had there not been these pesky rules about flying at 38 weeks pregnant). Stacey posted pictures of the wedding, it looked AMAZING. Anyway, the reception for the happy couple was on Saturday night, and it was wonderful. Sara and Brad had a video made that showed the highlights from the wedding, including the ceremony, it was so neat to be able to watch the ceremony. I didn't take too many pictures, but here are a couple...

First dance

Yum....cake
Sara = GORGEOUS, Allena = I found a dress that sort of fit...

Joke of the Day

Why is the glider sad?
Because the baby WON'T COME OUT!!!
I know that joke isn't very funny but neither is watching the baby ticker start counting UPWARD. Yesterday I had several meltdowns - I know you aren't supposed to pin your hopes on your due date, but it totally sucks when that due date comes, and there's no baby. I really keep hoping he'll come on his own soon, but it doesn't look like it. I'll just keep praying... :)

Thankful Thursday (Yes, I Know Today is Friday)

I'm going to bore you all to tears with pictures. Yesterday, Patty and Miles came over to play (Apparently Miles wanted to sit on his cousin again - ha). Then, the grandparents got wind of it and came over too. So we had a big ol' party at my casa yesterday. It definitely got my mind off the fact that Baby Boy is choosing to delay his entrance into the world - playing with Miles always makes me smile.

Miles tried out Baby Boy's Jumperoo and seemed to like it.

Patty majorly pissed Miles off (she kept trying to shove boobs in his face...which Uncle Brent commented wouldn't always make him cry - ha), so Babs calmed him down and got him to sleep. She's not trying to suffocate him!

Got the boys to put my glider together!!

Now Miles is trying this out too!
Time to head home...

40 Week Check-Up

Just back from my 40 week appointment. Baby Boy must really like it inside...no change from last week...still 1 cm dilated and 75-80% effaced. We have a tentative induction set for Tuesday (June 30), but she wants to see me the day before first, and if she doesn't like my cervix (she didn't today), we're cancelling the induction... So pray that Baby Boy decides to come out on his own before then or that my cervix makes my doctor happy on Monday!! :)

I also thought I'd give you an update on Stephanie (my friend who is having twins). She has made it past 32 weeks and is on daily monitoring in the hospital. She will be having her babies on Monday via c-section. Her son weighs almost 4 pounds and her daugher weighs almost 2 1/2 pounds. Pray for a safe delivery and that the babies gain strength quickly so that they don't have to stay in the NICU for too long.

I'm having another afternoon visitor (Patty and Miles), so I will post some pictures of my precious nephew later!!

Lunch Date

This little girl (and her mama) came to visit me (and bring me lunch) today...fresh from their month-long visit to Sweden (check out their blog HERE). We had a great time catching up and enjoying Maya's antics. She tried Baby Boy's swing again and still wasn't crazy about it! Thanks for visiting, lunch and getting my mind off Baby Boy's decision to stay inside!!

Miss

As this pregnancy winds down (it better be winding down), I have been thinking about what I will and will not miss about being pregnant.

What I Will Miss
1. Feeling him inside me (I will by far miss this the most - it outweighs every negative aspect there could possibly be with pregnancy)
2. Eating anything and everything
3. Frequent massages, pedicures, pampering

What I Will NOT Miss
1. Swollen feet
2. Itchy legs
3. Smelling like Sarna lotion (remedy for #2)
4. 40 extra pounds (although those won't magically disappear)
5. Acne (I feel like I'm 14 again)
6. Not having a glass of wine
7. Not sleeping on my stomach (are these double negatives confusing anyone else?)

I am beyond excited for my Baby Boy to get here (take the hint, kiddo, and COME OUT!!!)

Bumpers

The bumpers for Baby Boy's room seem to be causing some problems lately...they are made but not quite fitting in the bed right. My FMIL (fabulous mother-in-law) already had to take them apart once...and now they fit but just don't want to cooperate. They are super cute though, don't you think?? Still trying to decide which side to be the 'outside', too.

Happy Father's Day! (aka Happy Birthday, Mom!)

Yesterday was Father's Day (duh) but also my mom's birthday. Our family went out to eat at Threadgill's to celebrate and had a great time.

The soon to be father (could I look worse? could my boobs look droopier?)

Seriously cute!

39 Week Check-Up (aka Prescription Fun)

I had my 39 week check-up yesterday. I've been having lots of discomfort, so I went into the appointment thinking there BETTER BE some change in my status down there or I was going to be really sad. (Sidebar: I did have a slight breakdown in the morning... Waiting on a baby is one of the hardest things EVER I have decided.) Well, my body did not disappoint. I am still only dilated to 1 cm, but I am 75-80% effaced. My doctor said (and I quote) that I am 'very ripe'. She said there was a significant different from last week in my cervix!!! She wrote a prescription for Brent prescribing sex to get this baby out - hilarious! I love my doctor. I just got done walking on the treadmill for 40 minutes...hopefully we'll have a baby in the next few days!!!

Wordless Wednesday (Almost)

Only onesie missing is his 'coming home' outfit - thanks to Dena for getting these made for Baby Boy - can't wait to post him in his 'coming home' outfit - I thought it would be a fun surprise!

Baby Bump Watch 2009 - 38 Weeks

I am sitting here propped up in my recliner with my SWOLLEN feet laughing as I watch 'I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant'... There's NO way I could mistake this pregnancy for anything else...and I'm loving it.

Why Peeing 5 Times a Night Isn't Always a Bad Thing

Being up so often, you can smell that something isn't right in your house, and you are able to get the burning pizza out of the oven that your husband and his friend put in at 5:00 AM and then prompty passed out...

P.S. - This is not the first time Brent has done this...except last time it was chicken nuggets...

Sloshball

I never put together a post with pictures from Brent's birthday, but I figured better late than never! We had our 2nd Annual Sloshball Birthday Bash for Brent and had a blast. (For those of you not in the know, sloshball is kickball played with beer. For example, you can't go to 2nd base without chugging beer at 1st base.) I did not enjoy having to sit on the sidelines this year, but I will be back next year ready to play!

Getting ready to play
Great uniforms this year
The winning team (they let me be on this team - ha)
Delicious cookie cake
Before we cut the cake

38 Week Check-Up

We finally have some progress to report! After being told last week that I was 'thick and closed', I am officially dilated 1 cm, 50% effaced, and Baby Boy is at a -1 station. All very exciting!! Everything else is measuring great and right according to schedule, let's just hope he gets bored inside and decides to come out and play really soon. :)

Zack Attack

Does anybody watch Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (or whatever it's called)? I don't but saw this online...for all you Saved By the Bell fans...THIS is GREAT!

More Miles

My parents and I ventured to Babies R Us to get a few last minute (super important) things...like my glider. Miles needed some new pajamas, so we picked up a few things for him and then headed over to Patty's. I bribed my parents into helping me with the trip to see Miles at the end. (I'm so sneaky!)

Patty got a kick out of this pose (so I must not be the only one who finds it funny)!

Look at that face - Mr. Serious! (Check out Patty's 'Team Bella' shirt - we are definitely 'Twilight' nerds. David's dad lives near Forks and got her the shirt and some other random stuff - I am way jealous.)

Baby Bump Watch - 37 Weeks

I'm not much bigger (I've measured 35 cm for 3 weeks), but I MIGHT be dropping a little bit, right?? To quote my doctor, I am 'thick and closed', so no progress on that front, but he does look a little lower. If you don't think he does, please keep that to yourself! ;)

From...To

From this...

to this... to THIS!!!!

It was hard to get pictures of the whole room now, but it is finally organized. I am doing several loads of laundry as we speak, and then I'm ready for Baby Boy! Special shout out to Dena for all her help today!!!
