Just a Jumpin'

I put Trent in the Johnny Jumper that we got from Dena to see what he'd do since he LOVES to stand. He wasn't quite sure what was going on, but he jumped around for about 20 minutes before getting fussy, so I think this is going to be another favorite of his. It is really fun to watch him get older and be able to play with more of his toys that have just been collecting dust!

Advice PLEASE!

Trent (and I) need some advice. He is having trouble staying asleep once put down in his crib for naps and nighttime. It's gotten so rough that he's back in his swaddle so he at least gets good sleep at night. Any moms out there have advice for me? What happens you ask? I get him to fall asleep (which is sometimes a battle in itself) and go to lay him in his crib. He either startles with his eyes POPPING open...followed by a wail OR he sleeps for just 30 minutes (his naps used to be about an hour with 1 longer nap) which results in an overly tired baby by the end of the day. I'm really working to have him napping and sleeping in the same place as he becomes more aware of his surroundings, but I don't know if it's better to have him get good sleep (meaning he might nap on our bed while I watch Ellen - sidebar - I LOVE Ellen) or sleep in his crib?!? HELP!!

Trying It Out

I wanted to see how Trent did in his bouncer. There was no minimum age on it, but I wasn't sure he was quite old enough for it. His feet don't quite touch the ground, so I know once they do...he'll be jumping around like crazy...and I can't wait! As a sidebar, I made his crazy patch of hair lay down this weekend. I love how it sticks up, but it's fun laying down, too, don't you think??

Looking at the bird
Doesn't he look like he's trying to eat the lion?
OMG - look at those FAT cheeks! (No skipped meals for this guy!)

Grandmothers

Trent got to spend time with both his grandmothers and 1 great-grandmother this weekend. I feel so blessed to have these wonderful women in my life and wanted to give them a shout out!!

Giggles

Last night Trent woke up hungry about midnight (he's gotten up twice a night for the past 3 nights - not sure why since he's been going weeks only waking up once). Well, after I put him back down and got back into bed, he started talking to himself. Brent and I turned on the image on the monitor and had so much fun watching him - it was SO funny. He was talking up a storm and trying to eat his hands. We watched him for probably 10 minutes before he got fussy, and I had to go in there to rock him for a few minutes. It amazes me what entertains us now that we have a baby!

Addicted

I can't stop taking pictures of my son. It's seriously become an addiction! I hope no one is sick of seeing pictures of him - I'm definitely not sick of posting them. {grin} There's not much else going on in my life right now though, so if I wasn't posting pictures of Trent...this blog would be blank!

Golf Outing

I took Trent to the driving range to watch his daddy hit balls. I am really setting myself up for golf for the rest of my life, huh? I guess if Trent gets a college scholarship like Brent, I won't complain!

Swaddle-less Success

Trent has happily slept in the Miracle Blanket for close to 2 months now (see our glow worm picture). I've been thinking that he was probably able to sleep independently, but I was hesitant to try (we tried a few weeks ago and it didn't go so well). Well, last night Trent peed on his blanket (Sidebar: When that happened, Brent said I looked like I could cry - ha), so we HAD to try...and guess what?!?! He did fantastic!! He woke up his usual 1 time to nurse and then went right back to sleep. I am so happy!! :) I had been so indecisive about trying him without the blanket, and he made the decision for me. Thanks son!

Monkeying Around

Trent is growing up right before my eyes. It is so amazing to watch him be more alert and learn more about his body every day. We've been putting him in a bouncy seat for a few weeks now. At first, he would just look at the animals, then he started to talk to them. Now, this week, he can grab them. I LOVE it!!

Studying the animals...

He got one!!! {proud mama}

I can't help it... He is too precious while sleeping... Enjoy!

Postpartum Update

I went to see a psychiatrist yesterday to discuss my postpartum issues. I had a good visit (I cried most of the appointment, of course)... this doctor is awesome. Everything he said was exactly how I've been feeling. Turns out I have postpartum anxiety and not depression and have irrationally latched onto Trent's safety as my 'trigger'. So he gave me some things to do to help me process my anxiety, and I'm feeling optimistic. I've been doing a lot better the last 2 weeks (and I owe a lot of that to my mother-in-law who took off a lot of time from work to help me) and am maybe seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I really appreciate everyone's prayers and support, you have no idea how much it has meant to me!

Embarrassing Allison

Allison and I have been friends for over 20 years (crazy)...and I am so thrilled to be in her wedding THIS weekend!! Saturday was her bachelorette party, and I made it to the first part of it and of course had to embarrass her!! Can't wait for this weekend!

Nice necklace, huh?? (If you know me, you know I can't pass up a chance for nice jewelry. HA!)
