The Anatomy of a Cupcake

I co-hosted a sprinkle this evening for a dear friend of mine having her second little girl in a few weeks. In typical fashion, I a) volunteered to make cupcakes and b) waited until the last minute to make them.

One of the other hostesses picked out the theme and found the cutest cupcake wrappers which I ordered 2 weeks ago. The shipper guaranteed I would have the wrappers today, but when they shipped on Monday I noticed they shipped to the old address. #theneverendingsagaofchangingyouraddress Luckily, they were shipped USPS where we have the change address form...but...today they still hadn't arrived. I checked the tracking number. 'Undeliverable to address. Return to sender.' Um... I called USPS and found out they were at the center by our old house, so I hopped in the car to pick them up. Whew.

Meanwhile, during 1 conference call I baked the cupcakes. In another, I mixed the icing. Then during a third I iced them. #multitaskingatitsfinest

And that is how I waited to the last minute and almost didn't get the cupcakes finished. You'd think I'd learn to plan better given this happens all the time. But I guess why fix it if it always turns out okay? {grin}

The finished product!

Celebrating baby Sienna!
