Frankly, My Dear, Being Sick Sucks

Man, this winter has been hard on everyone, I swear! Almost everyone I know has either had the flu or a sinus infection or a nasty bug of some sort. And poor Drew baby can't go a week without catching something! But the past 5 days have taken the cake.

Wednesday afternoon I started coming down with something. I ran fever until mid-day Friday and was just about dead. Took 4 and 5 hour naps {which sounds fun but isn't when everything hurts so bad}. Luckily, my village pulled together and my parents kept the kids Thursday night and got them to school on Friday {and picked Trent up from school for behavior}. Friday night my in-laws kept them, so I was able to get 2 days and nights of really awesome, much-needed sleep. Then...

Drew started running fever at the in-laws on Saturday. We picked the kids up, and it spiked at 104.3. We oiled her up, gave her some ibuprofen, and sent her to bed at 6:00. She slept until 8:00 and woke up with no fever! Until...

This morning, her fever came back. Not nearly as high but still a skip school pass. Luckily the in-laws and parents are pulling through again for help while Trent has therapy today and a dr. appointment tomorrow!

The best part of all of this has certainly been this morning. On the way to school, Drew got a bad bloody nose. To the point that I pulled over on the side of a busy road in rainy conditions to clean her up because she was freaking the EFF out {and who could blame her}. We got to school late which upset Trent and starts him off SO great in his classroom. I cleaned Drew up in the bathroom at school because, to quote Trent, 'She looked like a wild animal.' When we got home, I gave her some apple slices which she proceeded to choke on to the point of me having to turn her upside down and beat on her back until she threw up all over the floor.

At what point can you climb back into bed, pull the covers over your head, and declare the day over?

Oh no! Wishing you better days! That sounds terrible. However, the wild animal quote is super creative! ;)
