You Win Some, You Lose Some

Sometimes you're doing good and sometimes...not so much. I feel like the last few weeks have been 1 step ahead, 1 step back, 1 step sideways, all over the place. But we've had a few things to celebrate...but also a few things to lament!

Some of the good...
- I've lost 2 pounds so far this month! Slowly working my way toward my goal, yay!
Some of the bad...
- I ate my weight in lasagna last night, oops!
Some of the good...
- We've managed to keep the kids' diets pretty decent. [minus some extra snacks we ordered from Amazon]
Some of the bad...
- I think the kids are only brushing their teeth once a day. At least they are brushing them? And they are definitely not showering consistently!

Some of the good...
- We are spending a lot more time outside.
Some of the bad...
- But the kids are definitely getting extra screen time. It isn't INSANE, but I am trying to relieve my Mom Guilt over screen time right now...

Some of the good...
- I have started drinking my coffee with NO sweetener! I don't love it, but it's manageable!
Some of the bad...
- I REALLY want a Chai...and might be making that happen today! Sugar, I just can't completely quit you!

Some of the good...
- I have been so impressed at how quickly Drew picked up bike riding once we finally tackled it. Now we need to tackle shoe tying. Coronavirus is slowing us down enough to tackle all these things a 7-year-old should already know, ha.
Some of the bad...
- We can't go very far because her bike is too small, and it is super hard pedaling a bike that is too small. I think we're going to go get an old one my parents have though!

Some of the good...
- I love all the extra family time - I feel like we are making a lot of new habits that I hope stick and making good memories. Drew and Trent have been so much better with each other, and we're all doing a lot more together.
Some of the bad...
- With all this togetherness, there is definitely a lot more fighting, ha!

What are some of the good and bad things happening for you!?!?

The good: I've gone through a lot of my clothes and donated them to one of the girls I work with who lives in sober living so they can have some clothes. The bad: for every thing I've gotten rid of I've bought something else! ha! The good: Jake is loving all the time he's getting to spend with me. The bad: he is more sad when I do leave and he has to go in his kennel :( The good: I have maybe eaten out like 3 times since this mess started. The bad: I am craving some mexican like noone's business (and I may have gone to my fav mexican place and ordered several bags of just chips because they are the best..ha)

I like all the good in your life :)

The good is our family newspaper which has been capturing our different views from quarantine. I especially love reading the kids' perspectives.

The bad is that I WANT TO BE ALONE and that's just not going to happen. And our weather -- snow for the next two days. I want to cry. Or hibernate.

Yay for the weight loss! Baby steps! I LOLed at the teeth brushing because since adam has been in charge of bedtime, I don’t think the kids have been brushing their teeth AT ALL. Under my reign, they brush in morning before school and at night before bed. Under Adam’s reign? No idea.
