Room
Plot: After five-year-old Jack and his mother escape from the enclosed surroundings that Jack has known his entire life, the boy makes a thrilling discovery.
Review: This plot description makes no sense to me after having read the book and seen the film, ha. The movie was very good {if hard to watch at times for the subject matter} and I liked that it wasn't quite so childish {the book is 100% from Jack's point of view which can be tedious}. Brie Larson knocked it out of the park, and I want to steal Jack - he is so adorable! Tough movie but a good movie.
45 Years
Plot: A married couple preparing to celebrate their wedding anniversary receive shattering news that promises to forever change the course of their lives.
Review: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz - I have no clue how this was nominated for anything.
Trumbo
Plot: In 1947, Dalton Trumbo was Hollywood's top screenwriter, until he and other artists were jailed and blacklisted for their political beliefs.
Review: Wow. This was a story {the blacklist era} that I didn't know a lot about and the movie was fascinating. Bryan Cranston {nominated for Best Actor} was amazing as Dalton Trumbo. Dalton won an Oscar for Roman Holiday and The Brave One but one was credited to another writer and the other was written under a pseudonym - all because America couldn't handle him being a registered Communist. Pretty crazy stuff and such a great story and great movie-making!

I haven't heard of any of these movies! But I went back and reread your book review on Room and I remember that now..i couldn't watch that I don't think!
Was trying to decide if I'd rather watch Birdman or 45 Years again? It's a tough one. - AP
I still need to see Room. I know. I feel like the worst movie lover ever for not having seen it yet.
