Baby Smoochie - 20 Weeks

I warned you guys last time I would make a graphic, and here we go! Something 'official' to commemorate my last series of bumpdates! This week was a big one - we had our 20 week anatomy scan on Tuesday and got to see Smoochie movin' and a shakin' - our first ultrasound since my first appointment. I always get really nervous about this appointment but Smoochie was a model baby who showed off that everything is just as it should be! We saw 10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 halves to the brain, 4 chambers of the heart, the sonogram technician took a bunch of pictures and measurements and ALL IS GOOD!

How far along: 20 weeks

Hello Smoochie! Love that face already!

Size of baby: 10 ounces and 6.5 inches...a small cantaloupe

Weight gain: 13 pounds - trending really close to where I was with Drew.

Gender: We could have found out this week and didn't! The technician needed to check everything out, so she had me look away. All I cared about was that we had matching internal and external parts, and we do! One interesting tidbit is Smoochie's heart rate continues to trend with Drew's more than Trent's... From my notes, Trent's was always in the 140s or 150s. Drew's started in the 160s-170s and then at 20 weeks fell to 141. Smoochie's has been in the 160s and this time was 143...hmmm...

Dirty mirror selfie {grin}

Maternity clothes: I have a few elastic-waisted shorts {from Southern Peach} that I love that aren't maternity, but any shirts I wear that aren't just look weird.

Movement: Still not enough! I would say I feel Smoochie every day, but sometimes it's just 1 time, and I get nervous. Randomly it is more of the 'rolling' sensation that I think is more common to later on {in my experiences} and it's always on the right side.

Sleep: One word: AWFUL.

Symptoms: Just a little of this and a little of that. I threw up Sunday so that was fun, and I continue to dry heave almost every time I brush my teeth. Sciatica, restless leg {contributing to the awful sleep}, general achiness...but really nothing terrible - just a mix.

Cravings: Anything and everything full of fat and sugar. But trying SO HARD to resist...and doing a pretty good job! I do plan to fully enjoy our trip to Cali though!

What I miss: Not much this week!

Best moment of the week: Of course the anatomy scan! Just knowing everything is progressing along is so awesome.

Worst moment of the week: I have been really short with the kids, and I feel terrible about it. Hopefully some time away from our regular routine will help with my attitude.

Other random stuff: I've had people ask what names we're considering. Brent and I haven't - and won't - discuss for a long time! I have a list going, but I imagine we'll start talking about it...in the hospital! I also think I've decided on a direction for the nursery, so it'll be fun to get started on that soon. My doctor suggested starting sooner rather than later since I am likely to wear out a little faster this go around!

Belly-button watch: Not much change - just kind of wonky looking.

So interesting on the heart beat! Also, I barely ever felt Holden. I'd go half the day and be like...is he moving? He came out a way more chill baby. And as my doctor reminded me, we are born with our personalities, so you probably just have an easy going baby in there! So exciting!!
