Movie Review: Beauty and the Beast

Hallelujah! I finally went to a movie! I'm so excited and can't wait to get back into a regular routine with Allison! {Lots of exclamation points there, ha} We have wanted to see Beauty and the Beast since we first knew it was being made into a movie, and we're both huge Downton Abbey lovers, so knowing Dan Stevens was the Beast made us even more interested!

Plot: An adaptation of the fairy tale about a monstrous-looking prince and a young woman who fall in love.

Review: Allison and I both loved it! This was not a cheesy production - you could tell everyone was very invested - the actors were magnificent {mostly}, the sets were beautiful, the singing was great {again mostly}, overall just wonderful. It was nice to have all the old songs to sing along to with a few new songs that were also really good. I only have 2 minor complaints - one, I think it was a smidge too long. At just over 2 hours I'm glad I didn't take Drew - I don't think she would have been able to make it through. They added some scenes that I think were added to develop Belle and the Beast's love story a little more which was fine but it just felt a smidge long. My other small issue was I didn't think Emma Watson was as strong of a Belle as the other cast members were for their characters. I LOVE her, and she did good, but everyone else did GREAT.

So there you go - my first movie of 2017! Here's hoping for about 50 more, ha!
