Movie Review: The Big Sick

Allison and I hit up our annual birthday film! We are both August birthday girls and always go to the artsy theater in town, and this year we chose The Big Sick.

Plot: Pakistan-born comedian Kumail Nanjiani and grad student Emily Gardner fall in love but struggle as their cultures clash. When Emily contracts a mystery illness, Kumail finds himself forced to face her feisty parents, his family's expectations, and his true feelings.

Review: Allison and I both loved it! It was such a great story and told in such a great way and very funny. It was also really appropriate with what is going on right now because there were some prejudices and stereotypes discussed in the film that extra hit home right now.

Rating: We both gave it an A and think everyone would enjoy this one!

That 9/11 joke was surprisingly funny.
