Postpartum Progress

To give the full impact of my progress, I have to share a little bit of background information. When Trent was first born, I would try to nap during the day - either when he was napping or when family was over helping. It did NOT go well. I would usually just lay there in bed crying feeling extremely anxious; it felt like what I imagine a panic attack feels like. I finally stopped attempting to nap even when I was exhausted. A few weeks ago, I was clearing out some pamphlets we received at the hospital. One was all about the different types of postpartum. Under the topic of postpartum anxiety, the first symptom was 'Inability to sleep when the baby sleeps'...hmmm...could that be describing me??? Well, on Saturday, Brent suggested that I lay down and nap on the couch while Trent was napping in his crib (we have had much success in the sleep department with him lately). I almost didn't even try but then decided to go for it. Guess what?!?! I TOOK A NAP!!! I know that might seem insignificant to some people, but it felt like such a huge milestone to me. :)

P.S. - I took a TON of pictures this weekend, so as soon as I can find my cord, you will see some super fun shots. I'm sure you're all waiting with bated breath.

Good for you! I could tell you were doing better just by the increased number of posts and pictures we've been getting on here. Congrats on napping!! That's one of my most favorite things to do. ;-)
