Movie Review: The Girl on the Train

Allison and I are so fancy and saw this at an early screening - it was one we both definitely really wanted to see after reading the book {review from reading it here}.

Plot: A divorcee becomes entangled in a missing persons investigation that promises to send shockwaves throughout her life.

Review: I remember getting really frustrated at Rachel {the main character} because she is SO pathetic in the book. Understandable given everything that has happened to her, but she does so many dumb things in the book. She's just as frustrating in the movie, but I think it works a little better because the movie is 2 hours versus READING 8 or more hours of Rachel being such a pathetic dummy {sorry, ha}. Allison and I couldn't 100% remember all the plot twists, so we were still guessing and enjoying it. We decided afterwards that we'd give it a B+.

I think a B grade is fair. I agree that Rachel was a little less annoying/frustrating in the movie, but I liked how Anna was more of a villain in the book. It makes the end more surprising and gratifying.

Side note, am I the only one that thinks Haley Bennett (Megan) could totally play Jennifer Lawrence's sister?
