Whole 30 - Week 2

I can't believe I finished Week 2 of Whole 30 and am almost halfway through. Very exciting stuff!

The timeline for this week:

  • Days 8-9: For the love of Gosling, my pants are TIGHTER!
  • Days 10-11: The hardest days.
  • Days 12-15: Boundless Energy! Now give me a damn Twinkie!
The timeline  cracks me up. Sometimes it's spot on and sometimes it isn't. Days 12-15 have been pretty accurate, but Days 10-11 were pretty easy.

Random tidbits from Week 2:
  • I would say 90% of the time, I am completely content. But when I make a grilled cheese sandwich for Trent, I might really, REALLY, really want to take a bite. Or when I pass a Starbucks I might think just a little bit a lot about how good a chai tastes. But the moment passes pretty quickly.
  • Having more energy, seeing changes in my body, and noticing how much better food tastes all make skipping those other foods worth it.
  • I ate tomatoes again! And I didn't gag!
  • I don't like eggs but am experimenting with ways to cook them to see if I can find a way that I do like them.
3rd attempt at a fried egg...like it better than scrambled but still don't love.

Breakfast one day

  • I am surprised at how much I {most of the time} don't miss bread/carbs. And a little surprised that I miss cheese more.

I did want to eat this bread, but I didn't!

  • I ate out twice during week 2 and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be to ask for modifications. Both times the waiters were super nice and understanding.

See those tomatoes?!?!

I think what is the most interesting for me about all of this is I really think I could maintain something similar to this as a lifestyle. Sugar is a slippery slope for me, so I have to learn how to have it here and there without it turning into a months-long sugar binge. And eating this way {plus cheese} would be totally doable...I think.

I love your recount! I have been thinking about doing this again to get back on track. I have only completed a strict whole 30 one time. I love eggs so that one was easy...I literally mix them with any kind of meat we may have had for dinner the night before. My sweet tooth seems to grow as I age and that is always the hardest to get under control and I love me some chips and salsa. Keep up the good work!
