Show & Tell Tuesday: My Best Dinner Party

I've done a few Show & Tell Tuesdays, and I thought this week's was a fun one:

What 5 people would you invite for dinner at your house?

I decided everybody had to be alive - the list would get infinitely harder if I could invite Jesus to dinner! Once I started thinking about who I wanted to include, I realized I was mainly thinking about women. {Because GIRL POWER} Then I realized I had picked 1 person from TV, 1 author, etc. And that made this list super cool in my own humble opinion. So can I stop talking about my list and just tell y'all already?!?! Okay!

ONE

I have had a girl crush on Mariska Hargitay for a million years. One of my favorite shows is Law & Order: SVU and largely for Mariska. She is a mother to 3 children {2 are adopted and about 6 months apart in age!}, a women's right advocate, beautiful {she's Jayne Mansfield's daughter}. How amazing would it be to talk to her?

TWO

If you don't know I am pretty much obsessed with Outlander, you haven't been reading my blog for very long. Diana Gabaldon has written 8 of my favorite books of all time and created an amazing world and cast of characters I can't imagine life without. She also has a Ph.D., has been married for over 40 years, and has 3 children. What a woman!

THREE

I'm cheating a little by inviting all 3 Dixie Chicks, but to get the magic of the group, you need all 3! These native Texans are amazing singers and musicians, talented songwriters, witty, sassy, amazing! Look at all those Grammy's! My goal would be to talk them back into the recording studio.

FOUR

When you created the part of Elpheba in Wicked AND are the voice of Princess Elsa in Frozen, you get invited to dinner. Idina Menzel has one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard in my life. She's won a Tony, people! And I might be able to talk her into singing Let It Go or Defying Gravity?

FIVE

Ellen DeGeneres is funny, kind, and knows EVERY celebrity in Hollywood. Can you imagine the stories she could tell at a dinner party? I started watching Ellen while on maternity leave with Trent, and her show was a highlight of my day during the dark days of post-partum. I would love to give her a hug in person!

I think I have come up with a really awesome dinner party. Want to come?

I love your invite list, especially Mariska! I'm inviting Taylor Swift to mine and said she could bring her squad (it was my way around the 5 person limit!) so hopefully she could make it! ;) I'm in NYC for work right now and Mariska Instagrammed she was at the show "Hamilton" which is right across the street from my hotel. It's probably good I didn't see it at the time or I would have been staked out at the theatre waiting to meet her!

I'm guessing the dinner would be catered because there's no food in this house!!!! Quit blogging and get to the grocery store!!!

After reading Mr. Gurley' comment, you should have gone with 5 really hot guys! ;) One of them could have cooked up something!
